Apothem is XDC Network’s testnet, running chain id 51 with TXDC as its native currency. It mirrors mainnet’s XDPoS 2.0 consensus and roughly 2-second block time, so contracts behave the way they will on chain 50. XDC’s documentation lists its RPC as erpc.apothem.network and its explorer as testnet.xdcscan.com, with a faucet for TXDC.

Consensus and parameters
Apothem runs the same XDPoS 2.0 consensus as mainnet: delegated proof of stake with BFT finality, a rotating masternode set and 900-block epochs. The difference from mainnet is economic and operational — TXDC is a test token with no value, so transactions cost nothing in real terms.
Testing against Apothem
Because consensus and block time match mainnet, timing-sensitive logic behaves the same way here as it will on chain 50. A contract that settles a listing against an auction end time can be exercised against real block arrival rather than simulated intervals.
